Ludlowville Falls 2

Ludlowville Falls is a favorite salmon fishing spot on Salmon creek near Ithaca. This watercolor is my second more expressionist rendition of the same waterfalls I painted in oils earlier. This was painted en plein air on the spot. Back in the studio I added the overall shadow to bring out the curving contour of the foreground rock ledges and accented the jutting far ledge to add focus.
